Kintsugi
The Japanese art of Kintsugi, traditionally used to repair broken ceramics, is one of Japan’s most celebrated craft techniques.
Inspired by its philosophy and aesthetic, I reinterpreted Kintsugi by “repairing” fragments of discarded CDs into a mosaic-like composition on a fabric corset, joined together with gold paint. This contemporary interpretation replaces traditional materials with electronic waste, staying true to byLUDO’s vision of transforming technology into wearable art. The corset is finished with fabric eyelets and, instead of a conventional lace, features an audio jack cable as its closure.
